    Evinrude Powerpack

I have a 1997 Evinrude Intruder 175 that is missing on top end and eventually cuts out. I have narrowed it down to a power pack. I took mine off and its P/N 584910 and it is the grey sleeved one. I know how to put it back on etc but after reading a few more forums I saw where a couple people said they just replaced the "sensor". From what I understand my powerpack has the built in optical eye sensor. Is this correct? If not where do I get the "sensor" or is it not worth replacing right yet and just see if the powerpack itself corrects the issue?

Always replace the sensor when replacing the pack.

    Re: Evinrude Powerpack (SEAHORSE)

I have a 584910 power pack that I replaced before I knew about this site and seahorse's spot on advice. My problem was the optical sensor. If you are interested in my powerpack IM me and we can discuss.
