    Help w/ hydraulic steering

Anyone using the Bay Star on their rig? If so,what lengthboat & hp motor are you using it on? Im considering getting one for an 18 1/2' w/ 150. But would like to know how it performs. I know the description says up to 150 hp so to me that includes the 150.Maybe not.

I think it also mentions something about speeds up to 60mph also. So if your boat / motor combo run over that you should go to the Sea Star set up.

Hey Trigger...welcome to the boards!!! I think you'll find the general consensus is
your better off spending the extra $ and going with the Sea Star.

Go with the Seastar pro set-up. I installed it last fall in my 18' Ranger 361V w/150 Johnson and it was fantastic. No more torque to the right and easy steering with no worries about when the next cable will freeze up. Best $900 I ever spent! I got mine from Surplus Unlimited in Fla. including hydraulic lines! Don't waste your time on the Baystar system it sucks in comparison. If you are handy with your skills and own a few basic tools you can install it with no problem. I sold the boat last week and that was a major selling point with the new owner!!

....And if you really watch you can get a new/slightly used seastar pro in the $600 vicinity. I got lucky and pieced together a seastar pro w/ tilt helm for $300. Be aware that if you go with the Baystar you could possibly have some handling issues if your boat goes fast enough.
