Lift Ring ?

Planning on installing a manual jackplate sometime over the winter. Is there a "Lift Ring" insert that can be used on my 1991 Rude Intruder E150gleis. A friend of mine has a Merc lift ring that he uses. Is there any way that this ring is Universal for other manufacturers as well. I doubt it is but thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. If not, I'd appreciate any advice on how to lift the motor off. I do have access to a fork lift where my boat will be stored. I'm sure my friend and I can think it through with the forklift and chains/tow straps. It has come in handy on a few other jobs I have done. Just thought I would ask and see if someone had some experience here.

Hey Dave, not sure if a '91 is the same configuration as a '97 but here's a pic to help locate the built in lift points. A short length of chain with hooks on the end work great.

Thanks Don, I'll look those lift points later today/tonight. I'm taking her down to Craig's to put her in his warehouse for the winter Man this time of the year sucks I have a couple of maintainece and projects all set up to keep me busy through the winter

Well, his Champ is put to bed now. I see there will be some tinkering throughout the winter!!

Let's see......first the JP.......I'll stay on the outside by the transom and wrench and Dave can twist his body into the most unnatural and prohibitive spinal contortions known to man to reach the inside transom bolts. That's after he drains all the gas and moves the fuel tank out of the way enough to just SEE the bolt heads.

Been there done that!!

He shouldn't have to, usually they (ChampioN) put keepers on the bolt heads so you would have to go below to get to them.
