    Hose Clamps that will work

I have two tanks in my boat and I was having problems getting the regular screw clamps to seal off tight enough to stop air leaks. After breaking several I went to Napa Auto Parts and they told me to try some that they have for Fuel Injection Lines, well after putting them on I had no more leaks in the fuel system. The regular screw clamps are .99 cents and the ones that I purchased are $1.49 each. Money well spent in my book. So here is a picture of the one that didn’t work and also the one that did.

    Part Number 705-1227

Thanks NAPA for all the help

I've been using those for about 5 years on all my fuel lines and they work great. I bought them online somewhere (Don't remember the place), but it's nice to know NAPA has them too. They come in various sizes too. Good tip..

The reason is the screw style, if you tighten them up enough to stop leaks and NOT cut the hose in the summer, they will leak in the winter as the hose shrinks in the cold.

The FI kind, when tightened, the ears give some, which provides spring tension to keep from leaking in the winter when the hose shrinks.

This is why auto makers use the round spring style clips )commonly called ohgeezus clips due to the difficulty in removing with regular pliers), they dont' cut the hose, and they self-tighten when the outside temps change.

I use to use screw clamps, till a friend of mine explained to me why I always had minor leaks during the winter, and now, I try to use the OEM spring style, no more leaks
