I have a 2004 225hp HO and recently blew the lower unit, it was replaced with a total new unit mine was not rebuilt. Now looking at the unit it looks smaller on the bottom end is that possible or is it just my eyes telling me its smaller?
Even if it is the same size where there differant lower units on this year and size engine? I was thinking a differant unit on the HO vs a non-HO engine?
The HO came with the lightning l/u which is more pointed on the forward section of the bullet, The O case had a more blunt end on the nose and higher water pickups..... Which did you have before and which do you have now?
The case is pointed, it is this pointed area that appears smaller than the original one but I don't have the original to compare it to. It may just be my eye thinking it looks smaller. I was just concerned that the HO may have had a larger case more HD that a standard and that I had mine replaced with a standard case?
Did your old gearcase have drilled round water inlet holes and the new one have plastic replaceable inlet screens?
