Hey guys, I pulled the plug on my 96' Eninrude 130 lower unit yesterday and there were some very small magnetized metal shavings sticking out from the end of the plug. is this normal to have or should I be concerned. The boat ran great the last time out but I dont want to get stuck out in the lake with a shot LU. Thanks!
Fine metal shavings are normal. It is the small chunks that would br of concern.

Thanks dan, these are very fine, you can see them glitter a little bit in the oil. I plan on draining and replacing the LU oil this week, so hopefully there are no chunks in the bottom!
If it looks kinda like metallic paint, you're O.K. It's the big chunks that ruin your day!!
