Finally, my lower unit is in action

After getting my money orders lost in the mail, resheduled deliveries in UPS, blablabla, my lower unit arrived yesterday. Put new impeller in and got everything bolted back on. Got her in the water and let it it idle for a while(been sitting for over a month) Water pressure is amazing. Ran around at 4500 rpms for a while then fished a little. Boat still fishes real good. Dropped the mrs, and son off and did a test run with just me in the boat. Hit 5900 rpm w/ about 40 lbs of water pressure. Don't know what speed was, didn't turn the gps on. Was amazed I could turn that many r's as hot and muggy as it was. The motor can come up a ways w/ that kind of water pressure. Seemed a lot smoother overall to me. Got to call Eddie this morning to let him know how it did. I'm very happy w/ it. Looks like I need a 25 tempest when the cooler weather returns.

Eddie Pope. 423-336-5618. He can get you a rebuild or a new lightning at very reasonable prices.
