I went to Home Depot looking for the 1200 grit paper to start removing the oxidation from my boat but 600 grit is the highest grit they carried I havent tried Lowes yet but Im expecting the same thing there.

Go to an autobody supply house and buy emerycloth in the grits that you are after. Lowes and Home Despot cater to woodworking, the finishing requirements are not as stringent for that trade. Usually...(Before I get bashed over the head)

Emery cloth or wet sand paper? Is it the same thing?
