Hey Guys,

My console is starting to fade from the sun and age. I want to repaint the console, has anyone ever repainted one and what paint did you use? I am thinking about using a paint called ColorBond. Is this good or not?

I would either re-gel. This should be something you can do with a roller I would imagine. Since gel when sprayed outside of a mold has a heavy orange peel, it needs to be sanded and buffed. So whether sprayed or rolled, the means to an end are the same-sanding and buffing.

The next choice is a two part polyurethane. Interlux perfection for example. The two parts are extra hard from what I have read. With the proper reducer these can be rolled/tipped and look like a spray job.

Both ways will be expensive for just a console re-paint.

The ColorBond comes in a spray can and would seem a lot easier to apply to the dash/console.
