On a scale from 1-10. How tough is carpet replacement on a 210 Procraft? And if I decided to pay to have it done professionally, How much? Ballpark estimate.

dont know bout a stratos..but replacing carpet is gonna be more difficult depending on the person and their craftmanship skills. if you take the right cuts and learn from the boards here it should be too hard. use your old carpet pieces for templates, get your carpet grains goin in the right direction..its really not that bad. hardest part is prepping the work. scraping off old glue and then putting hinges and all that back on.![]()
Just finished a 209 dual console gambler, The hardest part on mine was the floor in the drivers area, had a lot of offsets and elevation changes. Really need to stop and figure your cuts before you do anything. The front and rear deck was not a problem. The hinges were a pain in the a$$. I used a 4 inch grinder with a flat wire brush and could clean the whole boat in a hour. The carpet came up in shreds so using that as a template was not possible but it was not that hard to do, just cut a little big to start with and trim down. Give yourself a couple weeks to do it, and take your time. I made several mistakes but most are not noticeable, Like mention above, keep your carpet grains in the same direction or some of the carpet will look like a different color. I got in a hurry and forgot about that rule. I have heard it mentioned here that some will charge around 12 to $1400.00 to do it.![]()
If you decide to do it yourself get a good pair of sissors from lowes or homedepot. Make the cut off the roll with a razor blade and then use the sissors from there to do the trimming, they make a lot cleaner cut.
15 to 2,000 depending on the quality of the carpet.
All the above mentioned is correct. Replaced mine as well. Plenty of razorblade's is a must.
I found that wrapping the lid's was the most time consuming of all the carpet task. Found a good solution to the problem though.
Purchased you about 4 or 5 Stanley "quick grip" vises and a few cheap "yard sticks" and 2 tube's of liquid nails that will fit in a chalking gun.
Line the outside "lip" of the lid with liquid nails, wrap carpet around it, place your yard stick on the outside of the carpet, then place your vises in a even spread down the lid over the yard stick and tighten up. Allow 30 min. for it to set. Then just keep repeating the process till all your lids are wrapped.![]()
Good luck
