    '93 Procraft 180C Windshield

    I am planning on ditching the stock windshield on my '93 Procraft F&S. The plan is to replace the stock "boxy" looking windshield with a lower profile smoke colored plexiglass unit similar to those found on late model bass rigs. The consoles on this boat are similar to those found on '07 Nitros. Would the units from a Nitro work?

    Who supplies these things to the builders?

    Has anyone here ever done this?

    Re: '93 Procraft 180C Windshield (Robertin Kentucky)

    I replaced the windshield on my 92 Procraft, since it didn't have one when I purchased it. I simply took the critical dimensions and finally found one on ebay that would work, with a few modifications.

    I'm assuming you are talking about making it into a dual console type arrangement, vs. the walk thru style? It would probably be easier this way. Do a search in this forum on "windshields" as many aftermarket manufacturers have been used by others with good success.

    ProcraftMike;

    Yeah, the consoles on this boat have a substantial "hump" very similar to the contour of the consoles on regular "bass" boats. The plan is to locate a pair of the smoke colored, frameless windshields with the proper dimensions and replace the existing clear, framed windshields.

    Thanx!

    My 92 has a hump on the drivers side, but the passengers side is flat. Do you have the 180 Combo? I would imagine it is real similar to my 170 Combo. You will have to find a way to attach the new windshield. You will probably have to make or obtain some angled brackets and it it quite possible that you have to add some shimming, depending on how it matches the boat dash contour. Your best bet is to visit a dealer that has a boat that you think the windshields will work from and take some measurements. I wonder if the actual Procraft bassboats of that era had the same dash contours as your boat? If so, you could get one made from an aftermarket source (do a search here or on the Procraft boards) to fit one of the bassboats with the same contours.

    Probably not a real easy fix here. It is going to take a little legwork and some research. Do you have a longstanding Procraft dealer close by? They may be able to offer you some assistance.

    I.m not sure if you can order from these guys by measurements or if the only way to get a shield is by specific model. But these guys look like they would know alot about Procrafts. It might be worth a phone call or an email anyway. Hope this helps.
