After much searching for a newer 175 I am about to make a deal on an 04' 175 DI. Are there any notorious problems with these motors I should know about or is this a good motor to buy. Thanks.

IMO, The DI is as good as the ETEC. Strong, fuel and oil efficient, and with good care they will run for a long time. I would recommend XD-100 oil and the diagnostic software to help you stay on top of it.
May seam like a stupid question but what is the diagnostic software?
The Di's and ETECs have an EMM and with a laptop and software you can access the EMM and get all the pertinant info, such as engine hours, rpm profiles, temp profiles for engine and EMM etc.... Make sure the seller gives you an EMM printout before buying, as you can see warranty claims etc also.
Where can I purchase this software and about how much is it?
