Russ and I got out yesterday and it was a slow day. We went to a lake I'd never been to. A lake I probably won't go to again (w/ my boat anyway). the ramp was tough and had to back way too far in. This is while the water level is high. First thing we see is a couple of fish off the bow rolling on the surface. As we got closer, I found them to be a couple of carp going through the motions. I got one largmouth(2-2.5lbs) and that was it for the day. The clouds were out in full force and so were the winds. There were steady gusts of 15-20 mph winds. Water temp was only 50 degrees.
Kolemook Lake looks like it has a lot of potential. It's not too far from Jazz's place. We went on a last minute choice. Russ has been going there for years and knew the lake very well. I can see us back there (his boat) some time during the summer.
BTW Russ, I didn't remember the name of the lake I looked it up!I was calling it kookaamunga Lake
