Sorry if this is in another thread.
I recently bought a 2006 Stratos with a 225 ETEC. When I got the boat home (late Friday night) I had about 1/4 tank of oil. I had a TX the next morning and being the person I am I could not sleep that night knowing I only had 1/4 tank of oil in the tank. So I researched the proper oil on the net to find the recommended oil is XD30, 50 or 100. I had XD30 laying around from my short boat (150 Johnson Faststrike). So I poured a little less than 1/2 gallon of the XD30 into the tank. Fished the TX. Went to the stealership the next week to find that the ETEC is programmed to run a specific type (good info to know after pouring the 30 in). They checked the setting. Sure enough, the setting was for XD100 (good news) So I bought a gallon of XD100. I asked if I would be ok mixing the oil or should I drain it. They told me to mix it... it is not worth draining the oil. Any opinions????
