check engine light--98 johnson fast strike ficth engine

hi, anybody know what might cause this? the motor runs great the light is intermediate, it is due a tune up. but it just started doing this the last time out. any help appreciated. thanks oldfishinfool

T, The Fichts are very voltage sensitive. Sounds like something in the battery connections aren't tight or a loose ground. Those grounds all over the PH need to be checked and cleaned occasionally. I can visit and try to help ya with the software if needed. Hopefully with this bump to the top someone who knows more than me will see it.

Lots of things can cause the Check Engine light to come on and not put it in SLOW mode, such as water in fuel. Your best bet is to retrieve the code and that will tell you where to start.
