    my first rod (ooops)

built my first rod and took it to work to show it off and then broke about 6 inches off the tip getting it out of my truck. If i fix it back will it still be worth a crap to use or will this kill the action of the rod?

It will kill the action of the rod, unfortunately Don't feel bad, I made a beautiful cranking rod that had exactly the balance, weight, and look I wanted, then shut the boat deck lid on it as I was putting it in for the first time

Post a pic of what you have left let's see your work. I broke a ultra light rod I made first time out when the rod locker door slipped out of my hands. That stuff happens but it sure can make you mad and burst you bubble.

It can probably be repaired and be pretty close to what it would have been before it was broken. http://www.rodbuilding.org/lib....html
