trim on my johnson is slipping?

i have noticed in the last few days that if i raise my trim(boatout of water) the motor is slowly, very slowly slipping down. i tried to find the hole where you add fluid thinking it may be low but cant find it. anyone know what might be cause this? the boat is a 98 stratos 273 with a 115 johnson fast strike

From the back of the motor, look on the right side of the trim section. Should be a big slotted screw head. Raise the motor and put on the bracket to hold it up. Loosen the big slotted screw and see if fluid comes out,if so you're good, if not add some BRP T&T fluid. Cap it back off, raise motor off bracket, and lower the skeg onto a block of wood. On the left side of the trim bracket you should see the manual release screw, unscrew this a few turns, DON'T back it all the way out! Then trim the engine up for 5 seconds, engine not moving, trim it down for 5 seconds, do this 5 times then tighten the manual release screw back down and check it.

Yes, When you loosen the manual release valve a few turns the trim motor and pump will run without lifting the engine, this serves to bleed the system.
