Braided Line

Does anyone use backing with braided line on spinning reels?

I always use backing on my baitcasters. But bever tried it with braid on my spinning reels.

yep I do use backing. I only use it as a precautionairy measure. Not to mention, it prevents the line from slipping on your spool. I probably would recommend it too if you use fireline.

yes. heard too many stories of line slipping on the spool otherwise.

You can also a piece of tape to tape the line to the spool so it won't spin. I use electrical tape and it works great.

I use 20# mono backing on all my reels. I don't have to replace as much braid when it gets old.
