Just wondering how does everyone like them. And who makes the best one.
Just wondering how does everyone like them. And who makes the best one.
The original is the best I have tried. I have been catching a few bouncing them off the bottom on ledges.
I got one of the Original and one Gambler. I think that Boo Yah makes them as well
i think the original and the booyah one is the best. but never catch any fish on them.
I have 3 knock offs a buddy on mine made. They work pretty good for me, not the magic fish every cast lure but it holds its own. I like to fish mine like a spinnerbait (just under the surface around shallow cover)

I've got a couple of the originals and a few of the Gamblers. I have yet to catch a fish on the original but I've had some good days throwing the Gambler. The gambler has a LOT more action to it. I had one day I was throwing the Gambler and my partner was throwing the original and I probly caught 20 fish and he never caught the first 1 on the original. He finaly put it down and started fishing plastics to catch some. I also bought some other knockoffs that are made pretty much the same as the gamblers, the blade is attached with a splitring and I've done well with those also. I think the splitring between the head and the blade gives them a lot more side to side action and more fish appeal. Since summer got here and the water got hot I've not done near as much good with them as I did this spring. I think they will start working good again this fall when the fish are chasing shad in the backs of creeks. I like them around shallow wood cover best.
I tried the Orginal in Black and Red for about 5 minutes. I had one big blow up and missed it, then I had a nice Peacock follow. After all that I realized I had it tied on wrong.
I know the Wal Marts here have them....hundreds of them. They all say "The Original Chatterbait" in tons of colors. I just don't throw them. I knew when I saw them being talked about on FLW early this year they would be at Wal Mart sooner or later![]()
I would be interested in hearing from some of you guys who throw them a lot about how they work and why and when you throw them. For example, when would you throw one of the chatterbaits instead of swimming a jig, or a spinnerbait?
I put a lot more faith in talking with guys here than I do in what I see and hear on TV.![]()

I bought them more so out of curiosity. They seem to have potential. You can run them just under the surface at a pretty slow speed. I haven't tried them out in a great length. But I figure that for $5 why not give them a try.
I might have to get a few and try them.
At Wal-Mart they are just under $5 ea is that about the normal price?

Don that price is pretty good considering they were 6.99 on Rad lures website when they got big!! I have some of the first ones and love them but they do have a time and place, when the fish are feeding on schooling shad they work really well, they also work good when fish are holding under docks. I have tried them all and think the original ones are the best, they have a dart action that I cant get the other to do, and the booyah ones are horrible, they hang up on everything!!
Thanks JeremyI believe the price at our Wal Mart was around $4.99ea and they had who knows how many colors?

Hey Hawk,
I'm yet to catch a largemouth on one but I've caught 3 peacock on them. Not bad for 2 days with about 10 min per trip. Anyways if you get some let me know how you do.
