    225 etec ???

this is a question that was raised on another board that i'd like to get an answer & post to help the guys out. any input is greatly appreciated & thanks in advance!!!

A guy was at the launch today with a new E-Tech.He just got it yesterday.
He said the oil tank ran low and the low oil sensor buzzer came on.He filled it back up but the motor still won't get above 1000 rpm's and teh buzzer keeps coming on.Is there a reset button on this thing.I felt bad for the guy,(being 4th of July weekend) and tried to find it for him but,no luck.
All the dealers were closed so he was dissapointed to say the least.I would like to know just in case this happens again.

Chances are he ran it too low on oil and air got into the oil line. Or possibly the dealer did not do the oil bleeding and priming like required.

The line has to be bled of air and the oil priming done, the correct way, just like with a new motor should be done.

my guess is the dealer didnot bleed the air out since it was his first day.

He will need to let the motor idle, there is a fail safe so you cant hurt the E-Tec, when it sees no oil pressure it goes into SAFE mode, it will not come out of SAFE mode until it sees 5 or 10 oil injector cycles, (this may take 10-15 minutes) that have oil pressure, when the E-Tec has 5 or 10 good oil injector pules it will resume normal operation.

The Thing about the E-Tec is, it wont Hurt you and it wont let you hurt it.
