    Roanoke and Yeopim

Put in at Bayside (old Pembroke) yesterday (3/20) and ran across to the Roanoke. Looked like somebody launched a tourney up there cause they were all running out and heading up the Cho.

I stayed at the lower end which was fairly muddy (not as bad as Gaston). Caught two shorts right off, then it just shut down. Water temp was 58-59.

I made a run to the Yeopim (mainly to see how far it was). Fished the rest of the day there with nothing but some toothy critters. Water temps in the small creeks there was 65-68! Had to check to make sure my transducer wasn't broke!

So not much in the way of fish, but the Sound was as smooth as glass and made for a really nice run both ways.

That is a rare day! 1 way is pretty rare but both ways, I would have bought a lottery ticket on the ride home.

So, how long did it take you to run to the Yeopim from the month of the Roanoke? Sounds like you wanted to burn some gas.

yep.. ate breakfast at pembroke then drove to the roanoke. there was a bojangles tx out of plymouth. I am trying to learn the roanke. one of the fishermen said they had over 100 boats out yesterday. everyone I talked to was having a difficult time. I caught 2 . the sound was about as slick as it gets... especially for this time of year. it got rough last night

Didn't time it, but I'd say it was about 20 minutes.

It was rare to see the sound this quiet. I put in at the water front ramp and ran out to the sound Saturday and it stayed flat most of the day!! I caught 7, only one was over 14, had three others that were just under 14". the others were about 13"s.
