    Ranger 350V deck extension measurements

    I made this deck so it would be removable. There are no screw in the floor. I have had this boat in rough water with the deck extension in and had no movement of the deck. 2 people can fish from the front deck now.

    a=29.5 inches
    b=49inches
    c=29.25 inches
    d=53 inches
    E=29.25 inches
    F=29 inches

    Green lines = 3/4 inch preasure treated plywood vertical supports that run the distance marked.
    Orange dots = 2 x 2 inch treated wood vertical supports that are 8.75 inches tall that act like legs of a table. They are screwed in with ss screws into the 3/4 inch vertical boards and into the top deck plate with ss L-brackets

    Top deck plate is 3/4 inch preasure treated plywood. You will need to angle cut sides C and D in front of console
    ALL WOOD IS PREASURE TREATED AND IS SEALED WITH EPOXY BEFORE BEING PUT TOGETHER.

    Finished deck will just lay in boat.

    Just remember to seal the wood with epxoy resin. The epoxy will take about 2 days to dry. One day for each side of the wood.

    Re: Ranger 350V deck extension measurements (WishICouldFishMore)

    I built one for my old 350V a long time ago i did not use legs i mounted2x2 redwood strips along the rod box, in the front, along the starboard side, and on the console...the deck set down on top of them and was easy to remove i left the front where your stereo is open so i could slide tacke ect under it.
    Looks like you have done a nice job and thanks for posting the dims........

    Re: Ranger 350V deck extension measurements (rostj)

    Would you be interested in building one and shipping it to me? If it was too big, maybe ship it unassembled and just carpeted and epoxed and I could do the rest if thats possible....would want a built in cooler and more dry storage to fit some plano boxes in...

    name your price...

    Would this work on a 354V also? I also am wondering how you did the lids and is the space underneath the extension all open? I would like a cooler in front of the driver console.

    The lids are alum from Cabelas and the space underneath is divided by 2 peices of 3/4" wood. Youcould build a false floor in the compartments and silicone glue them around the seems to make somewhat water proof. You would want to add a drain hole though just in case you did get water in them.

    I haven't thought about building one for someone else. I would not know how to ship it to you. The top deck is the biggest peice. If you have the time I can walk you through buiding one fairly simple. Just remember to measure and remeasure and remeasure ect... as you are building it.

    Re: Ranger 350V deck extension measurements (Bassman24)

    I ran the wires through the driver console and then attached the wires to a toggle switch so i can turn on and off the radio from the driver seat. The toggle switch is wired to my cranking battery with an inline fuse. I had to drill a small hole for the wires to go through the console, so I drilled mine below to deck extension about 2" above the floor of the boat. I zip tied all the wires as they go back to the toggle switch. I also zip tied all the wires comming out of the back of the radio and have them on top of the radio and against the deck extension walls so as not to be in the way.

    FYI, if you're sealing it all with epoxy resin, you don't need to use pressure treated and would actually get a better seal without it. In a perfect world, use something like Hydrotec marine plywood. Resin coat/soak all edges thoroughly and all surfaces.
