    Skag question

I damaged the skag on my Johnson 150 so I installed a replacement universal skag. Problem was the skag was still a bit to short so I added a CHUNK of metal to the skid plate on the bottom of the skag. Here the question: It has no effect on my steering but story has it that it will reduce top end? True or false?

    Re: Skag question (khart)

Did you get the metal one, or that black plastic one? How did you secure the "chunk" of metal?

I would have a gearcase shop repair it, rather then run something that bolts on. That's just me though.

    Re: Skag question (Lockjaw)

ran bolts through the top part and welded chunk to bottom of skip plate. tech said if it doesn't affect the steering it will not cost you top end. Looks like hell but works
