Do you have your flywheel and stator off and your Timer base? Usually you can drop the timer base on the upper bearing carrier and lock it down without messing with the timing. Install it and then torque the stator bolts down to 17"'s and you should be happy once you torque the flywheel to 100 #

It is pretty easy once the Flywheel is removed, simply remove the stator bolts then the stator and then pull and replace the timer base you should be good to go.

ok i replaced the base still no fire on one side so i ordered the stator now all four cylinders are firing but it wont start this may be a dumb question but is there a firing order on 2 stroke i have moved the power packs and coils around to check them is a certain coil suppose to go to a certain wire out of the stator or power pack

Check the black yellow wire for correct installation on the packs.

    What was the original problem?

Loss of power, quit running, engine missed?

Are all cylinders firing when this happens?

You can check it by attaching a timing light to one plug lead at a time, be sure to route the timing light wires where they will not get caught in any rotating or moving parts and reinstall the motor cover, go for a ride and see what the light shows.

Absolutely sure you are TDC on #1 and you're key way is in the crank? and The Timing pointer matches #1.

I am sure the key way is correct which cylinder is # 1 do 2 strokes have a firing order ??? I was wondering if i could have switched the coils around and have them on the wrong cylinders
