I have a 1990 Evinrude 200 Model # VE200SLESE Serial# G02530555
I got this boat about 5 years Ago and it has never run Great have had carb problems since day 1. I finally have decided to rebuild all 6 of them and get it over with. I think mistake No#1 I took all 6 carbs off at once, although as I took them apart I put all the parts in 6 separate containers keeping each carb together. I just received 6 new Kits P/N 439079 was told by 2 dealers thats the one it takes. The High speed Orifices are 62D except for 1 its 63D the other 2 orifices on these carbs are #32 & #34 with no consistancy of where the were put a couple 32s in the Idle spot and the rest in the intermediate and in fact 1 of them I really couldn't tell what size it was someone had actually Scratched off because they had obviously used a screw driver to small for the job. Compression in this engine is pretty low all cycl's within 1 of 75lbs engine was checked cold. So a minimum of a ring job is in order I believe but I wanna get these carbs right and do the overhaul in a few months.
Are the Orifices the right ones ? Should they all be the same config on all carbs ? Are they ready to go back together or do I need more parts? Also I live at an ELEV of about 1000ft and this boat came from a dealer in Salt Lake City and I was told it spent most of it's time on Lake Powell which I believe is over 3700 feet so the prev owner could have had it re-jetted for that reason. With the info you have here what would you suggest i do short of buying a new motor. I am a poor person so economy is important but I do want it right. Thanks in advance for any help you all can lend me with this project.
