NC Fishing

Brrrrr its cold in Central Florida. Not use to staying inside because of weather...
Heading up to Louisburg in April for a Family reunion. Gonna stop at Parker's in Wilson for some good BBQ on the way up..

Is there any good bass fishing lakes around Louisburg ?? Will have only one day to fish.. Should i hire a guide or rent a boat at a marina ?? I normally flip here in Florida..

Any good bass fishing near Louisburg?

Take your pick. Probably the closest to there would be Falls Lake, Kerr Lake or Lake Gaston. Falls has good big bass potential, as do Jordan Lake and Harris lake which are a little further away (maybe 45 mins to an hour). Harris lake has primarily vegitation and Gaston also has a little grass.

Jordan, Falls and Kerr are pretty void of vegitation.

Not much in the way of boat rentals around. A guide or finding a BBCer with an empty seat would probably be your best bet.

I ate there last week, mmmmgood. When you coming up. I fish at a private lake named lake royale and it is about 15 min from Louisburg. If i'm off work and its not raining maybe we can hook up.

Sounds great,,, i have tons of family scattered around louisburg but will be staying at a hotel..

it will be the second weekend in April.. I we arrive on Friday and will leave on Monday.. Maybe Saturday Morning we can hook up for a few hours

Son you got to be joking Ding Dong you are on top of Falls,Harris, Jordan and close to Buggs You have almost died an went to Heaven Good Fishing But bring your long johns

you got something against lake royale? its a private 3.5 mile long lake with no fishing pressure and ton of 7lbs+ bass. you have a better chance of catching that wall hanger here than anywere else in nc. dont be jealous. All you have to do is ask if you want to go.

OK, I will be arriving Friday, Lunch at Parker's around 1:00.. Want have time to fish this trip. Family reunion @ Red Bud Baptist Church Saturday..

I will be staying in Raleigh..(Closest Hotel near Louisburg)Where is Wilbur's BBQ I read about???

Wilbers is in Goldsboro NC off of hwy 70. Probably an hour or so from Raleigh.

There's BBQ Lodge in mini city on captail blvd in raleigh across from lowers and the ford deal. that will be on your way out of town are in town and down town there Cooper's BBQ ?which will hwy #1 going out of town if you come down 401 turn on to millbrook rd to capltial to mini city hope this help ,if you get lost every one in the area know's BBQ LODGE?
