    Sales Tax Payment

    Hi Guys,
I am picking my boat up from a boat dealer in CT.
They cant collect the sales tax.
Can I pay the sales tax at the registry in Springfield when I register the boat?
I know I have to go upstairs to register the trailer and pay the sales tax for that there.
But just unsure about the boat tax.

If you use the Worcester Registry its the building diagonal across the street next to the state court house...Has a chinese food place called the "Hoy Toy" i think on the bottom floor..I think they are on the fourth floor

    Re: Sales Tax Payment (JerryT)

They still are a Ranger dealer.
I saw service awards from 99 up to last year all over the wall. Also saw Jimmy Houston and Roland Martin pictures too.
Yes they showed me the check list when they went through the boat.VERY thorough. The only defect they didn't fix was the keel guard. Its been doing it's job.

So I cant pay the sales tax in Springfield? Would have to pay it online?
I want to get everything done on Thursday so I can pick it up and do an "on water delivery" on Friday.
I guess I could go to the dealer Thursday and pay for the boat, get sll papers then register the trailer in Springfield then go home and pay the sales tax online, then Friday stop and register in the boat in Springfield, before I take delivery and bring her home.

LOTS of back and forth driving

Is that to me??? let me put this out real CLEAR so its not misunderstood...CT Boatworks screwed me royally and thats saying it nicely...Im glad they lost there Ranger dealership and i hope they go out of Business....And if your one of there Prostaffers who emailed me last time telling me i shouldnt talk bad about them FAT CHANCE once again!!!

Here is some more of my negitivity as i dont even think i went through the whole story on the boards as i felt at fault also for taking there word they had checked the boat out and i should have known better...but here goes seeing how im just a negitive person

Lets see pick up my boat that "Had" a warranty late on a Saterday...no time to take you for a ride son but we checked her all out and she is good to go..No problem as i wanted a bassboat so bad i didnt care what they told me i just wanted to go fishing and whats the worse that would happen i would have to bring it back if they lied about checking it all out??...So we leave get to my shop..Hmm odd three dead batterys..Charge them up..no go all are dead beyond comming back ..Ok so i will buy some batterys..these guys will make it right im sure..

Hmmm seems the jackplate wont work..Check for power..Good lets just pop off the motor and and the rust off so i dont have to bother them with something small...That might have worked if the jackplate motor had worked int he last 5 years When i say there was more rust than copper in that motor it would still be an understatement

No problem will just call them on monday and im sure they will do me right as they checked this boat out and i have a warrnaty..Funny i couldnt get in touch with anyone there for 2 days..Everyone was out of the office and there phones must not dial out ..My boss was heading to South Windsor for the Auto Auction so he figured he would stop by and they could just get me a replacement and i would still eat the batterys..He was told to leave it and they would call..No call for a week...I try and call and get ducked again so the following week he stops by..My boss refuses to leave until he talks to someone besides the secretary and like a miricle people appear....Tom the/or one of the Owners tells my Boss they cant do anything because they dont sell used boats...Hmmmm then where did i buy this boat if i didnt buy it from them?? My Boss calls as he is about to be arrested because of the way he is being talked to and i told him not to bother as its just not worth it

Trolling motor was junk..didnt even work,None of the livewell pumps worked nor the Bildge..Ohh lets not forget when i was passed by one of my own trailer wheels about a month after buying it at the boat ramp at South Wattupa...The trailer brakes that couldnt have worked in the last few years

Did i mention the guy who came with me to pick it up and tried to talk me out of taking it that day is a Die hard Ranger owner??? Does that give me any credibilty??? Did i forget to mention another good friend of mine has known the owner for years and he even got the phone hung up on him when he questioned 'You dont sell used boats then where did this kid get the boat??"

Did i mention i later found out through a BBC member that this boat and trailer was hit by a car broad side and repaired by them..Seems they forgot to inform me of thet too,Or i should have known that right???..Great guys

But your Right CapW...I should give them two thumbs up anyway and stop being so dam negitive right??? Only cost me around 6+ grand to make this boat and trailer right or i could have spent 6 years in court trying to make them make it right like they said they would when i shook Marks hand and handed him my hard earned money..Or just been a hot head and went and drove it through there show room...Go down there and get into a fist fight??? What would that do for me??

Id prefer to just keep doing it my way and chock it up as a lesson learned the hardway...And passing on my negitivity to people who might go down there to buy a used boat when they dont know much about boats like me when i bought mine and getting the shaft..I might even throw a BBQ for the New England BBC guys when they go out of Business

And if the owners, employee's or prostaff want to beat me up for talking the truth they can have at it

Id go one but i need to go awnser my email as im sure there will be more Emails from members of there prostaff or the bass club they kick money to telling me to keep quiet

Will check and see if i still have my pictures while im there

I went there with another buddy who was buying a brand new ranger. They disrespected him enough he bought his boat at another dealer. I wouldn't buy a boat there, I would travel to Florida to buy before they would get my business

Let's just say there is two sides to every story . I'm sure if I called this dealer they would give me a different story for each of you that had a problem . They sold Ranger's for more then 10 years . I would have to believe they made more people's dream come true ( owning a Ranger ) then they made mad . We all know that the bass boat market is tough (especially in the northeast , small market for bass boat sales ).We are fussy about our boats , electronics , trailer, etc... . Retail / Sales is a tough business . You can never keep everybody happy but you must try . It does not matter if you are selling boats , cars or other merchandise. Some customers are going to feel they were treated great while a handful ( hopefully just a few ) will feel they got screwed . I'm sure if I mentioned some other dealer we would get several complaints with almost nobody saying anything good . I can not speak for everyone but for those I referred or helped buy a boat they were happy ( to the best of my knowledge ).

Call em up Jay...Id love to hear the story they give you and read it on here...Im fine with the fact your a Prostaffer and its your job to stick up for them...but how many people have to tell you something about a company before you take the shirt off and say hey maybe they arent making this crap up and i shouldnt stick my neck out this time. One of the guys that was with me you talk to pretty often..guess he is making his part up too???

    Re: (JerryT) (JerryT)

Jerry , I'm not saying that you , Steve , or anyone else is making anything up . I just wanted to show the common sense part of this entire post . You know that we could mention any boat dealer in the northeast and there will be some people who had terrible experiences with them . I'm not going to call them and then post what they had to say because it will not do any good at this point and it is not the place for it . Yes , I was on the pro staff but now that they do not sell Rangers I will probably help a different dealer . Jerry , I love bass fishing and bass boats and therefore loved helping them with a product that I believe in . I can only speak for the people I sent to them and of my knowledge were happy . I was on there pro staff for about 7 years . They sold Rangers for 10+ years they must have been doing something good , that's all I'm saying . I'm not trying to cause a BBC war or get people mad at me .

I know what they did to me, so I'm happy they lost there sponsorship, that means they can't rip off anymore unsuspecting Ranger owners, they were good to you great, not to me... Just my opinion, but who ever your next sponsor will be,they be great also cause there paying your way,(or so you think)......

What do you think you get with a sponsorship? Not much but maybe a real small discount on a boat. and I emphasize "small". As he said you do it to support a product you believe in and to hopefully make people happy.
Not saying anything about the dealer as I have never even been in the door but just responding to your last comment Earl.

    Re: (rangerjay) (cape cod basser)

I enjoy working shows and showing people what makes this product ( Ranger boats in this case ) different and better then others on the market. I have owned many different bass boats . I got screwed on my first bass boat that I bought many years ago . This is why I enjoy working show's , to help show people the differences.

What common sense part of this entire post?? Have you ever heard of another dealer doing to someone what they did to me?? If anything just awnser me that one part of this post to me.. Where does the common sense part come in??..In a thread of 20 posts they either screwed or mistreated atleast 4 people in this thread and only did two prostaffers right so we are just isolated cases??

Have i heard bad things about every boat dealer?? Cant say i have...I happen to know of a few high profile dealers that have done everything possible to make even the pickyest boat buyer happy...Thats the business they are in..very similar to mine..you dont have to kiss everyones ass but you can only strait out screw so many people before it catches up with you...Im not nit picking over baby crap here..im talking huge problems that i took their word for on that they said where all set..Not a yeah yeah..I got the handshake and a thanks for giving use your business and you are all set happy fishing

Bit my tounge on a lot of posts about them on here ...Wont ever bite my tounge about them ever again

Not trying to attack you...but no one can tell me this was an ok practice by any form of dealership in any shape or form or lump it in as an isolated thing

    Pat

I agree with you, my point is, i don't understand why anyone would be on a pro staff, for the very little discount you get from the dealer. This type of pro staff stuff, only happens in the bass boat industry, can you be a pro staffer for Chevy,Dodge,or Ford,or any other major company? I drive a Chevy, they don't have a pro staff that goes around to shows boasting the greatness of there product. For the few dollars you get off of the boat, and the free hours you have to donate to get that discount I just don't see it. In some cases sure they take some money off of the boat, but after the year is up you still have to either, sell the boat outright,or pay the dealer. I know of one pro staffer,(was on the BASS circuit) that had 2 boats he was paying on because he couldn't sell them for what he owed, and the last time I knew he still was trying to sell one of them that was 2 yrs old and had never seen water and never been started. Why would you do that? cause you believe in the product that much???? or is it a status symbol to be on anyones pro staff?
