Anyone have any good or bad comments about the motor? Wondering if this is the same motor that gave people allot of problems. It has only 40 hours and is on a 03 Champ 196. The boat is on the for sale page. Thanks

any Evinrude 2002 model year & newer are very good engines. These engines were made by BRP .As with any engine you should have a certified Evinrude tech (that knows ficht/e-tec engines) check it out for you.The can plug in a lap top and give you the engine history.
That engine is a hoss !!............I had one on my 519 and it was a running SOB..................Dang good engines, very reliable, and miserly on both oil and gas......................Roger

Thanks for input guys. I kind of figured it would be bad on gas and oil. That concerns me with today gas prices which are surely going to rise more
I think he posted "Miserly" meaning uses very little fuel and oil.

That's what tha man said!!!!! These engines get great gas and oil milage compared to the carb engines. My 03 225 is good compared to my old Vindicator
