Re: An old fishing vid (storm 22)

Brings back a lot of memories wading and catching bass and bluegill on East Lake Toho and Lake Toho. You young guys have no idea how good the fishing was back in the 60's and 70's or before on those two lakes. The Okee was great too. Some of the best big bass lakes were the old citrus grove lakes that are now covered over with homes and strip malls.

And they say growth and expansion is a postive for the community??? I wish people would stop moving here. They buy up the land causing inflated prices for people who were raised here. Cause traffic jams that we have to correct and deal with via increased taxes. Pollute our lakes and rivers because current sewage treatment plants were not meant for the increased population. ( more taxes to correct). Cause water shortages -example, Oralndo wanting to take millons of gallons from an already sick St Johns River. Get the picture, our fishing will get worse if the dont stop moving down here. Please stay up North or in California.Dont want our state to look like NY, Chicago, Los Angelas. Hell, I hope the Jaguars move out, less TV time nationally. By the way, charge the new comers a fee and build a desalinazation plant. The ocean is only anouther 20 miles east. Take anyone that has moved here in the last ten years, divide the project by that number and bill them because this was not a problem untill they rellocated here.

You wish the Jaguars would move for less national time on tv. You being from Jax don't ever get to watch them on tv anyway because they are always blacked out. Maybe they should black out their games nation wide.

I'm not hating on the Jags. I am a fan but it would be nice to see them on t.v. when they are home.

Re: An old fishing vid (meyerskbass)

In reference to the Jags, when will people realize that when they go to a game they are getting ripped off? Think about it... 20-30 dollars to park near the stadium, 70.00 for a ticket and an 8 dollar beer. If your by yourself thats already 100$ before your even in your seat. So, lets take a family of four. 2 beers for the mom and dad. 2 cokes for each child, a hotdog or hamburger and your pushing 500$ or more for a few hours of entertainment.. And its all because the the players demand stupid figures for salaries. If tickes were 15.00 with 2$ dollar beers no prking fees then I'm in. But I refuse to support (at the current prices) abounch of guys who we cant even understand what there saying ( due to a lack of pronounciation) during an interview after a game.

2nd why is it every time Wayne Weaver demands a couple of milliion bucks he gets it???? I'm a city emplyee and they are trying to force a pay cut while attempting to mess with our pension. Sorry Mr Weaver but you have no buisness taking tax dollars when emplyees are taking cuts. Why is the city making tax payers who could care less about them help flip the bill??? I told my dad to cancel my season tickets .. they were a Christmas gift every year around the 40 yrd line about 20 rows up. I'd rather go to Gainsville on Sat, see a better game and go fishng on Sun.

Re: An old fishing vid (Manatee Mauler)

i guess its all about what you enjoy. I enjoy the games, even though I cont have to buy a ticket, but what can you do tht doesnt cost $100? $70 to &100 just to fill youtr gas tank to go fishing. then add $100 for the tournament or the cost of baits, everything is expensive. In relation to the cost of a game, we are in the bottom 1/3 of the league. Thats not bad when you consider that you have to double or even triple that to go to Green Bay, Washinton, New york, or even Philly. Life is exxpensive.

Re: An old fishing vid (Daddychatham)

Just because we are in the bottom 1/3 doesnt mean its a bargain, its still overpriced and the players over paid. For 100$ I can fish rodman 3 times and thats including gas in the truck. I'll fish sun up to sun down. Thats roughly 36 hrs for under 100.00. Also, wages are supposedly higher up north which is to compensate for a higher cost of living. Prices to a game are higher but so are there salaries.
If Florida loses on Sat, I really dont want to watch any games the rest of the weekend. And if they win against Tenn, Fl State, Ga. or Alabama I'm probably hurting the next day. Bottom line dont let the players demand the salaries they are getting and come down on prices. They will have more luck selling tickets.

I hope the Jags move as long as Weaver asks for $ from the tax payers every year.

    great video !

i started my ' fishing career' wading the st johns with almost the same outfit...still have that ol mitchell 300.....

as for the jags. i was a season ticket holder for 13 years.......gave em up when they doubled the prices....blame the players, theyre getting all the money now....,well, some of them.....the salaries are insane !!! 24 million for jamarcus russell ????

    puulllease.....

i will just go hunting instead...

if i can still find a place to go
