I plan on moving to the Mobile area in the next 2 years and was wanting to know what boat would best suit me for this area. I love to bass fish but am not sure if there is good bass fishing around this area. Would I be better off getting a flats boat, bass boat or a bay boat. I don't mind driving to get to some lakes but over 2 hours makes for a long day. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

I also plan to move down there in a couple of years and have looked at the keywest boats and triton makes a heck of a CC flats type boat. Plus I saw a nice ranger that was setup to fish both inshore and freshwater, I'll try to find the site where I saw it, it was my dream boat :)

MOST ANY BOAT WILL DO, JUST BE SURE TO GET A GALVANIZED TRAILER I LIVE IN THE MOBILE AREA AND IN THE PAST WHEN A DROUGHT HAS OCCURED TRAILERS GET EAT UP WITH RUST. HECK A FEW YEARS AGO THE DROUGHT WAS SO BAD ONE OF OUR CLUB MEMBERS CAUGHT A TARPON AT THE TRACKS CROSSING THE DELTA ABOUT 6 TO 7 MILES ABOVE I-10.
OH BY THE WAY GET GOOD INFORMATION ON WHERE TO GO AND NOT TO GO IF YOU FISH THE CAUSEWAY. IT GETS AWEFULLY SHALLOW.
