Pulling the trigger on a new 21 hp. Think I'm going with a 250 proxs but would love to hear what anyone has to say about the same boat with a sho. Really like the quiet 4 stroke but I'm all about top end performance. Anyone got any test numbers. Any help would be highly appreciated.

the merc will be faster on top-end and get better gas mileage.
What about that new 4-stroke Merc, is that not any good or something?
Hole shot might be a little better with the SHO but top end should be pretty close to each other at least within an MPH or 2. Saw a video with Randy Howell runnning a 27 fury at 81mph.
Should be no decision, 250Proxs.

Absolutely....
What about the new verado?
A friend ran a new Verado pro. Has nothing but praise for the engine. You have the ability to switch between foot and hand throttle. The only downside is it's no lightweight engine. My choice would be ProXS. If the boat was a 21XS, I would consider the Verado.
I think the Verado is a great engine for saltwater boats especially when you put trips on a 35, but the engine is heavy, I the the Merc 250 Proxs is the best engine for a bass boat.
What about the new verado?
