Think of them as brothers......OMC owned both brands, Strat had all the bells and whistles and Javelins were no nonsence machines. Looks like when Genmar bought them they chit canned Javelin ending in 02.
Im sure one of the experts will correct me if im wrong.

Were they made in a different place( not Tenn) when OMC owned them? I had someone ask me this the other day and I wasn't sure.

They were like GM, separate companies owned by the same company building products to compete with one anotherThe Stratos' were made in Old Hickory over by the Dupont plant. The Jav's and Hydro Sports were made in the same factory in Murfreesboro.

In my opinion the new stratos is the mid 90's Javelin! I know there are a lot of differences but the body lines, characteristics are alot of the same! Am I the only one that see's this?
The new Strats have softer lines on the top cap than the mid 90's Javs did.
As far as the guts inside...I have no idea as far as a comparison.
Check out a Jav 400 and compare to a new Strat 200.

We all have our opinions and we all have tid bits of info but, I have looked for the whole story and I can't find one. There has to be an explanation for the two or three companies and why they exist. Whether it was a marketing strategy, a financial reason, or just a squable between executives. Who has got the rest of the story?
