Ok guys i have a 15 8 Javelin with a 70 hp motor that is getting a complete rebuild.. doing a few things to raise compresion and get a little more horsepower I am thinking of putting a small jack plate on it and a stainless prop to help things out would like to get around 43-45 mph if possible.. Any one have any suggestions on Props to try size wise stock prop is 13 1/4 by 17
I had that boat with a 48spl on it and 17 might be the biggest you can run, depending on whether you have trim and tilt or not. I now have the 16'8" model with a 6" jackplate and to be honest with you I don't think jack plates make that much difference on those boats due to the deep hull design. Either way, If you really want a plate, 6" would be the max and you might want to consider a 4" fixed plate. I do have two Turbo One SS props for sale. A 13 1/4 x 17 and a 13 1/4 x 19. Both in super condition for $160.00 each including shipping.
I would be interested in that 19 prop.. will be a few weeks before i would have the funds.. but im like you im thinking 19 ss prop 4 " fixed plate will help some.. and i do have trim/tilt/
