If you are just running 55-57 your leaving some on the table, I have a 150 intruder on my 389T 62gps average but I did see 65 gps this winter and I am still tinkering with mine! As far as the gauges I am still somewhat pleased with mine, if I were looking I would definetly give C&O a Call!

    Re: 389T (javelinbill)

I am running 3.25 under with a 25 Tempest plus but I have some issues with rpm (6000 and want it around 5600 now, 5400 in the summer) I am losing bite hopefully a little more cup will hook it up and a little more lift! You need to get your rpm's down and you have a lot of slip as well as I if your tach is right, these motors make their peak hp @ 5400rpm!

would a 25 or 26 pitch prop lower my rpms and give more speed,, also on the same note would it be slower out of the hole.... thanks

Mine is a rocket out of the hole with the 25 tempest plus, if you can keep the slip down yes it will lower your rpm and increase your speed is the rule of thumb. But I can't really comment on either way to go right now as I am having some issues and until I figure them out, I don't want to tell you something that is going to drive you nuts too. That gade should be close with yours, so post your full setup and maybe somebody can get you in the right direction!

    Re: 389T (fishnfool38)

I am running a 389 SE w/ a 175 fast strike with a 24 Raker and the best I've got is 67-68 gps at 5700-5800 rpm. I think I am somewhere around 3" below pad. I you want, I can check to make sure exactly where I am running. I do have to feather it out of the hole when the water warms up. It has great bow lift, but it can be tricky to drive at times.
