right now I have battery and starter problems but think I have that straightened out but now sure yet. Mainly I am looking for a good Evinrude mechanic in Houston, Tx. I have had a Yamaha for about the last ten years and have a new to me boat now (2004) with a 225 HO that I don't know a lot about. By the way the model number is E225FHLSRM, ser no. 05048014

I ave an 05 225 HO, and went through cranking batteris, starter selenoids, and starters this past year. finally tracked it down to the Cable from the selenoid to the starter - ends were clean, but the copper cale was corroded inside the PVC JAcket. This in turn was the main culprit along with a faulty circuit breaker.

Have a tech show you where all the motor grounds are and clean them all up real good - (i think, there are like 9 or 10 of them under the cowling).

I have the starting problem fixed now. The starter was bad and the battery did not have enough CCA to get the job done. I replaced the starter and solenoid and the battery and she fired right up! Would still like to contact Rudetech1 or any other recommended Evinrude tech in the Houston area.
