    Jackplate ?'s

I am going to purchase a jackplate i found one on the forum here i am looking at. But i have a few questions?

Will it mount right up or will there be something else other than the jackplate?

Will all my cables and lines be long enoughand would i need trim extenders?

i am looking at a 8 for a 99 205 pro elite with a 200 johnson would the be an effeceint plate?

And finally is this unit easy to install and use ?

That will work just fine as long as your steering cables are long enough, would be a heck of a time to find out they are too short when you have the motor hanging in the air. Ask shaftdilbert if it comes with an OMC mounting kit. They are two aluminum straps that add support on the motor side of the plate. If not call Hydro-dynamics and get the kit. They will know what you are talking about. Nope on the trim extenders for your motor. Your control cables should be fine.

I have mine set back 7 inches and could probably go back more if I needed to. I would think you would be ok.

CM. What is the deal with the OMC mounting? I have had 3 diff OMC's and all mounted straight to the plate. One was a 2 piece plate, the other 2 have been Rapid Jack's.

They mount on the inside of the plate on the motor side one bar for the upper holes and one bar for the bottom set they are about an inch wide.
