Any 294XL's in the DFW Metroplex????

I have been kickking around the idea of a new 294. Every dealer I talk to does not have one for me to demo. Are there any in the MetroMess that I could ride in?

What do yall think about the 294, good or bad????

I cant meet ya , but the 294 is a GREAT boat. (I owned one) C&O has a few that would be a great deal. I truly believe if thats what you are looking for the 294, for the price and performance is one of the best on the market

that's me. mine is still for sale. thought i had it sold, but the guy couldn't get approval from the wife. for a fellow Texan, i'm sure we could work out something.

i am heading back to Iraq in the next couple of weeks, so look me up if you're interested.

I've fished from this one, it's a runner! Ole Todd sure can set one up

It does have one flaw, I did not win that day and Clint came in second if I remember right. Back seat is jinxed

Sounds like something I need to look into Clint.

Shoot me a link for me to check her out, what are you trying to get out of her???

I've talked to David over at C&O yesterday, got a few prices on a couple new boats, but due to MT pockets, a used boat might be the way to go.

Oh, and Clint, THANK YOU for what you are doing for our country!!

This is Clint's boat. It is in excellent condition and will fly. The 294 is an awesome combination of speed, ride, storage and fishability in a 19' package that is priced right.

    Thanks for the info!!
I'd still like to find one to ride it. I'll be coming out of an '88 201 into a 19 footer, I just want to make I'm going to be happy stepping down!

Re: Any 294XL's in the DFW Metroplex???? (Poorboy)

i'm leaving for Iraq in about a week and a half. but after next weekend, it will be down at C&O until it sells or it get back. i wish i could shoot down there and take you for a ride. i know you'd love it. plus you could show me some spots on fork. hahaha.

with a light load, and just me in the boat, i run 76mph(gps) with a full tourney load, livewells, gas tank, ice chest, storage compartments full and a partner with alot of tackle, i still run 73 to 73.5.

the 294 handles rough water very well, it fishes like it's bigger than 19'6", i fish 3 grown men out of mine every now and then, and have no problems. it's extremely fun to drive. just ask my 12 year old daughter. she was driving at 60 mph sunday, and wanted to go faster, but i wouldn't let her. hhahahaha.

by the way, Todd look out, she may give Jake a run for his money in a ocuple of years. hahaha

honestly the 294 is the best boat out there for the money. it's a perfect balance between handling, speed, fishability and economy. the only reason, the sole reason i am selling mine is because Todd has asked me to join the C&O team, and that means making room for my new team boat.

Re: Any 294XL's in the DFW Metroplex???? (Poorboy)

i've got an 80lb minnkota. new this year. (had a 65lb on it, but upgraded this spring) i have a 480 gps/sonar in the console and an X125 on the bow. pumpout, hydraulic steering, manual 6" jackplate, hambys, blinker trim, spare tire, trailer brakes, middle seat insert (can be taken out, i usually leave it out for tourneys then put it in for the kids) on board charger. etc etc etc. it's loaded.

i used to have a picture of the front, middle storage box with my 2 youngest daughters in it when they were 8 and 9 years old. as much fishing stuff as i own, and i can't fill it up with tackle.

That is the exact boat I have color and all except for mine has a Yamaha 200hp and a x-17gps. Fine boat and a great ride, easy to drive... this boat is a great compromise of performance and fishing.

Re: Any 294XL's in the DFW Metroplex???? (Poorboy)

Poorboy if yer age matches your profile dude there is NO WAY you could go wrong with this boat. Clint would know for sure but It may have warratny left, I don't think he's ever told me of any problems. The boat is not going to fish as a 201, not many boats out there do. Then agin you are not going to pay 201 prices up front or gas to run a 201 either. I'm a big Ole fellow and I was not cramped in this boat. Clint told me he was busy on post but would get you some more info when he got back to the house. Good luck on your hunt no matter where it takes you!!!

Re: Any 294XL's in the DFW Metroplex???? (LashCat)

first of all, thanks for all of the thanks. asyone who has ever served truly appreciates the grattitude. i personally am proud and honored to do it.

all i ask, is that we thank the spouses and children too. they are the ones making the most sacrifices. trust, my wife is moving back to Texas this weekend. and filing for divorce when she gets there. the global war on terrorism has taken it's toll on her.
