    bilge pump help

I have a 99 21 ss extreme and it was finally nice enough to get it out and start cleaning it and today I found both bilge pump hoses broke off at the pump. Can someone explain this to me. I had it in the garage and thiught I had run the pumps to get the water out and they are broken. Is there something i should have done or is the common, are the hoses to cramped and need elbows or what?

garage heated or not? or partially maybe ? if water was in there and it froze yes it will break, it should be fairly easy to replace also turn on the pump and see if it works sometimes if they freeze the pump cartrage or the little fan type thing will break and make it useless.

I had a 282 Stratos and I was out in the water oneday tinkering with my brand new sonar and noticed that my boat was sitting mighty low...After going through some of the stowage areas and seeing water I knew something was not good....even my batteries were under water...after chugging back to the dock and waiting till I parked her in the drive way...turns out that my neck broke....who knows why..doesn't get that cold in Ala...infact I replaced both of them.....
