Selling my 08' SX190, the warranty for motor runs out 01/2012. Can the new owner or myself purchase an extended warranty for the motor at this time?
Thanks

In some cases you can. If you buy the boat just call Yamaha and they will transfer the warranty in your name. They will also let you buy a Y.E.S. warrnty through them but it can be cheaper through a dealer. It is basically the Yamaha factory warranty. I added 3 years to mine recently for cheap.![]()
I think Yamaha has changed their policy with regard to transferring a warranty. I just had the boat I purchased transferred to my name and I had to take it in to the dealer and Yamaha charged 100 dollars to do it plus what the dealer charges to inspect it. Now to transfer the structural warranty to the second owner, Skeeter charges 200 dollars. Times must be hard for the boat companies to resort to this.
Thanks for the information. I can transfer the hull warranty to the buyer correct? How long is the hull warranty from Skeeter for the second owner?
Thanks
The Structural Warranty is 10 years from the date of original purchase.
