    Motor swap ?

Hey guys, I need your advice. I'm looking at swapping my 2003 Yammi four stroke with only 40 hrs with a Pro XS or something other than another Yammi. Not that I don't like Yamaha's but they are extremely hard to come buy. How bad will it affect the value of the boat if I switch manufactures? Do you guys think it will be worth the swap?

That isn't the best idea. When you do that, it isn't Real Money qualified anymore for one, and you'll spend more $ swapping over all the controls too. Be patient and you'll find a Yamaha, but the one you've got is a great engine too.

Thanks Jason, I didn't even think about the controls, etc. It's just this 25" shaft that is giving me the biggest problem with performance. This boat should be running close to 70 but every step forward, I take two steps back. After putting a new 10" jackplate on, I lost another 5 mph.

    Re: Motor swap ? (teamcobra2)

I've still got that T1. Its killing me not to be able to run it. I tried but my motor is just to low in the water to get the rpm's up. It is awesome out the hole. 5 seconds but top end I can only turn it 5300 rpms. So, all I can do right now is run the 25M2 and wait until I either swap the motor, get a hyd. jack plate, or go back with a slidemaster so it will have more travel than the rapid jack that I have now. Don't worry, I'll put that T1 to good use before too long.
