    Throttle Help

I have a 1987 Skeeter Starfire 175 and My 1975 85hp Johnson throttle cable broke, the conduit part of the cable ( black rubber cover ) came out of the metal part at the end of the cable that holdeds it in. I replaced it and the same thing happened, I slowly pulled out of the dock, got to open water gave full throttle and nothing, same broken cable. Has anyone else experience this.
    Thanks
    Joe

Are you saying that you installed a new cable and it did the same thing? Did you just install this motor on this boat. It is very under powered with that size motor.

    Re: Throttle Help (Skeet'r89)

I know its way underpowered, I'll upgrade one of these days, the old cable broke a week ago, I put the new one on Thursday and it broke on Friday. I took pictures but I can't post them. Like I said, I left the dock slowly gave it throttle and nothing, had to use trolling motor to get back to dock. I have another new one on, all I got to do is hook the box back up and pray it don't happen again.
