    Recessed Trolling Motor Trey

I just bought a 1997 Skeeter 202. I am interested in installing a recessed trey for my trolling motor pedal. Could anyone give me suggestions as to what to watch out for. I don't want to cut a cross member and I cannot see under there. Thanks for your help!

Not sure how the front deck layout is but do you have a storage box on the front deck? If so you should be able to remove the plastic part and get access under the deck, then you can stick you head down there and check things out.

If you have a cutout in the bow for a dash panel or fish finder remove and look with a mirror or take pics with a camera.

By the looks of other boats, it's empty/wide open space under the floor/deck.

There's a guy on here named BlackKnife that posted some very helpful pics of a TZX 190 when he did his. I would THINK yours would be similar.

Here's a link to the thread.

nothing to worry about. you will hit a little wood right infront of the seat mount that was used to brase it. I used to sell comfortroll and put 20+ in Skeeters. Just measure many times and cut once.

spend the extra money for the comfortroll IMO. it's got the rounded heel. it's a little more difficult to cut, but I figure if you're gonna cut a huge hole in a perfectly good deck, you'd better be happy with what you put in it.

I put a Comfortroll in my boat following the directions I found posted here by CA Ken. I could not be happier. Here is his link.
