Has anybody replaced a livewell pump

I had one die on me this weekend while fishing a tourney, boat is an 03 ZX250..... Can anybody tell me about what they cost? And any tips I might need? This will be the first one I've replaced.... I went ahead and pulled everything out that I needed to and I figured I might as well go ahead and replace the other one at the same time because it was such a pain to take that stuff out, my luck if I don't the other will die and I'll have to do the whole thing over again...

question, are skeeters like some rangers were you just replace the impeller assembly or do you have to replace the whole thing?

Can't speak for all Skeeters, but mine you can just replace the motor, I believe they call it a motor cartridge or something like that...

On my Skeeter I replaced both Rule Pumps a few years ago.Just snapped the old one out and snapped the new one in after removing and replacing hose connections.

I replaced mine about 2 months ago on a 2001 zx225. Just reached down in there push and turn on the motor then squeeze on both prongs and pull it off. Cut the two wires and replace with the new one. Push it in and turn it to lock. Bought mine at Plano Marine. Carried the old one in and they matched it. You could probably buy it first and then switch it out. I think it was around $35 but I am not sure definitely under $50.

Re: Has anybody replaced a livewell pump (CenterLine)

I had one go out on my SX 190 under warranty. I had to take my oil tank out to get to it. Pretty simple. Some of you guys might give this some thought, depends on what size is in your boat. I had the 500GPH, were alright. I ended up upgrading them to the 700GPH pumps. Talk about a world of difference. They pump 100% better, and start pumping right away as the 500's took about 1/2 min. to get the water flowing. Just something to think about. Also it could be done own your own, unless you don't feel like messing with it. The 700's i bought were around $35/pump.

Re: Has anybody replaced a livewell pump (Buzzed Bait)

The recent Skeeters have pumps that have removable powerhead and impeller assembly. Mine was a 2004 model and it had this. If the housing did not break like mine did. Cost should be under $40. The whole assembly for me was $42.

The newer Skeeters went to the newer Rule Tournament Series pumps that are designed better. But the are a little larger in size and no one on this board answered my question if the new ones would fit.
