Does anyone with an iClass have an alarm system that works?

I've had mine in the shop repeatedly and it's only worked once, and when I say once, I mean one cycle of on and off. The next time I tried to lock it electronically, the alarm went off, and it's done it every time since.

Just curious if it's a Skeeter-wide problem, or just my rig.

Mine works great. I initial had one bad sender and once I replaced it everything has worked great. If you have a bad sender it will go off without opening the doors.

You must be talking about some other boat and not a $45K i-class? I would be uncontrollable if I paid that much and ever had to take it to the dealer once, much less repeatedly. I guess it doesn't matter how much you spend. Problems are everywhere. And I don't mean that as a Skeeter bash, I mean it as a bass boat in general bash.

Jason, I'm in the car business, and I've come to realize that if a man made it, it's gonna break.

Am I happy about how often it's been there, no.

What matters to me is that each time, the guys at Dawson Marine do what they can to help me get it back on the water as soon as they can.

There's no point getting mad, it doesn't make anything fix itself, and it certainly doesn't motivate anyone to help you fix the problem.

Mine has worked fine since I got it. Only problem was one of the leads to the center tackle compartment lock jarred loose once on a tuna boat wake. Otherwise, no problems.

You're exactly right! If humans build it is will break. If it didn't we would not need warranty, parts departments, service departments and no need to build new products. Show me one that doesn't EVER break. (i'm in the same boat grew up in family owned farm equipment dealership- NOT J Deere and by they way they break and break often)

For your locks it sounds just like mine. I had one bad sensor. I fixed my own. I will IM you since this a security interest on how to fix. Would hate for the crooks to find out. I understand how the system works.

We have had soem problems with the brain boxes in the back compartment at our dealership. We have a reprogrammer that seems to fix all of them. You should mention that and see if they can get their hands on one.

Re: Does anyone with an iClass have an alarm system that works? (TMATTE)

Most of the ones built early in the model year had problems. Skeeter worked hard to fix the problem.

They are installing a new and different type of locks in all the new boats, and they will change yours for you.

I took mine to the factory in July and had them retrofit mine for the new locks. The new ones are far better than the old ones and I haven't had a single problem yet.

I wish they would've gotten it right from the beginning, but I'm glad they've got it figured out now.

You might talk to Dawson about the new locks or call Marshall at the factory and see what he tells you. I'm not sure how far you are from Kilgore, but I know they will take care of you if you take it to the factory.

    I do...

...I have had my 20 iClass since February, and I have had absolutely no failures or problems of any type with my locks or alarm system. I use my boat every weekend for tournaments and use my locks all the time. I also fish a lot of big water which is usually tough on any electronic item (rough water), and my locks and alarm has been flawless.

I do believe that Skeeter has fixed the problems that occurred on early models of the iClass, so if you have one with problems I would be checking with the dealer to get the upgraded system.

have an 07 i20 and the alarm works perfectly. Heck the boat works flawlessly. No lock issues either. I've had the boat since late June.

    Re: I do... (Marc)

After a couple trips to the dealer, they finally just replaced all the sensors and now it works great. Many thanks to Mike and J.T. at Aim Marine in San Diego.
