    Recessed Trolling Motor Install-Help

Guys- 2004 519VX, and I am seriously considering installing a recessed pedal. Any big issues? I have seen topics on this before but could not find any searching. Pics would be awesome as well as your brand recommendation as I trust you Ranger brothers!
Pimpin' ain't easy, but it's necessary.

There are several BBC sponsors that sell them. I just bought mine from Trollwell it is fiberglass and has black gelcoat. EASY INSTALL. Digging the foam out for drain tube is worst part of it.

Measure 3 times! Cut once! It is not that bad but making that first cut is the worst. Lay it out well, Drill pilot holes at the corners. Cut it with a jig saw. Mine was about half into the front compartment and half into foam filled area. Actually had to pry out the plywood that had foam behind it. I have heard that there is a cross brace under the deck on the 519VX that you will probably cut, no one has reported problems because of that. My 519VS didn't have a brace.

Before you install the tray, seal the edges of the deck with some resin to avoid problems down the road with water intrusion. Route the drain line forward to the front keel drain to keep water out of the front storage.

I posted this in another thread, I went with the comfortroll it had the smallest footprint.

The deck isn't that thick, but there is half pipe of PVC running up the middle being used as a conduit for your light for your center compartment, the wire runs through there. Disconnect it at the light and pull the wire out from your bow console. You'll be able to rerun it after you cut the hole. I used a jigsaw, I got a longer blade for it so I wouldn't bounce up and down when I hit the PVC. I mounted it about 1 1/2" back from the front edge of the bow console, it fits just right between there and the center storage compartment. I am 6'2" so it was a comfortable distance from the seat,if your shorter you may want it closer to the seat which means you will be cutting your storage compartment. If you have any questions just IM .

I just installed mine in my 2004 520, hardest part is making the first. I marked it and then just cut the carpet out, just to make sure it was in the right place. Then it was game on. I also drilled a hole in the front of the tray and ran my power wires through it, which gave it a real clean look..
