4 Blade or 3 Blade

I have a 04 Ranger 521vx, with a Opti 225 that is propped with a Tempest Plus 25 P 14.625 D 3 blade prop. I am trying to improve the hole shot because when loaded it is a bit of a dog. A dealer suggested removing one of my exhaust ports to free up the prob but I wanted to know does anyone run a 4 blade prop. What size would you recommend, how much does your top end speed drop and how does it affect the handling of the boat? With the existing prop the motor runs about 5500 RPM wide open. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

On your three exhause holes in the prop, put two large hole plugs in and leave one totally open...................holeshot will greatly improve and you will be a happy camper Sir. The boat should breakover anywhere from 31-3300 rpm's..............................RR

I did on my 04 521 different engine tho(225ho) ran a 26 trophy, I liked it best out of all the props I tested, no speed loss had a better hole shot and carried the bow better which is pretty heavy on the 521

Have the same rig sept its an 05 ,just upgraded to 250 pro xs but with the 225 my best set up was with a fury 24 with a 6 in bobs ,ran around 68 loaded and good hole shot,had to get a 26 for new motor so my 24 is a little small now
