So I got to run a 719 yesterday.....

That was my first time running that hull. It was Brandon's (1blubyu) with a 225 ProXS and two power poles. He really has the boat set up really nice to fish and some unique mounts for front graph, etc.

I met up with him to check out the way the boat was setup and see if we needed to do some adjustments on the jackplate. My goal was also to get some cool pics of the boat in the water, running, etc. As with all great plans, things get in the way. I had some personal issues that caused me to be running very late and I only had about 30 minutes to run. So, I failed to get any pics. I was more worried about getting to run the boat and make sure the setup wasn't way off and just forgot to snap any more pics.

Was able to get the boat up to 73 with he and I, 30+ gallons of fuel, and all of his gear. It drove just like my 721 did. I asked Brandon how hard of a turn he had put it in and he said pretty sharp. To which I replied hold on and turned as hard as I could at around 65 and the boat bit in and spun right around with us heading the other direction. Brandon simply said I haven't done it that hard...lol.

The power pole brackets are hindering holeshot without a doubt and I'm not 100% sure they aren't ticking the water a little bit while running. He has a couple of new brackets coming in the near future and I think then we will be able to get it dialed in a little more. I feel like it has some more left in it, but we agreed that he will get some more seat time, and get comfortable in it before we do any real tweaking.

Brandon, it is an amazing boat. Thanks for letting me play a few minutes. We'll do it again soon.

I have been reluctant to 360 my 721 because I done it one time on accident with my Tr-20x and it scared the heck out of me because I have never experienced it before. So you think the 721 can handle it also?

I'm not talking about a breach turn where you chop the gas and the boat does an automatic hook and basically comes to rest. That is a safety maneuver perfected by early year Champions that others have said they can do, but I've never seen them done as good as the old Champs. I'm also not talking about the boat spinning out like some do when pushed too hard. They will actually blow out (motor loses bite) and the hull spins around. Very scary and very dangerous.

I'm talking about running hard, tapping the trim down a little and turning the wheel hard. These boats dig in and turn. If you go to the left your partner better be holding on or he will be on top of you in a blink. These boats will pull some G's when pushed.

It's really like riding in a low to the ground go-kart. If you can hold on, the boat will do it. And do it under control if the driver knows what he's doing.

I impressed more people than I can remember by how my 721 handled and cornered. I LOVED running the boat, just wish I would have had a fuel sponsor.

The only pic I took was while I was waiting on the dock for Brandon to pick me up. It's too far away, he's already started slowing down, and is basically worthless, but...it's a pic.

The 'breach turn' is extreme and is not a turn that you just keep the throttle pegged and drive away from in the other direction. It is a violent, evasive maneuver. Will our boats do it? I don't know. They do everything else better than any other boat I've been in (including a Champion).
