    Quick question about the livewells.

Ok, Marty tried explaining this to me saturday but I was too busy trying not to embrace the new boat in a manner that would've made everyone uncomfortable . The new boat has a "Pro Air" function on the livewells. I'm new to all the fancy high tech stuff so can someone explain what this is again. I remember him saying something about Pro Air pumping oxygen into the livewells. What's the best way to run them, "aerator", "recirc", or "pro air"? On the Viper I had one option (turn 'em on). Got a tournament this weekend and don't want to christen the boat with a dead stringer . Yeah, probably a dumb question but I had to ask.

The Pro Air is an air pump that injects oxygen in the Live well. I always fill mine and then run it in recirc with the pump on auto. I use the pro air when I am moving from spot to spot this time of year and when the water gets really hot you can run it constantly if you like. The bees have a great livewell system with a big capacity and the pro air. Have had several people with new Bee Lines and even older Bumble Bees to brag on the live well systems in these boats

A pro air system is like the bubble curtin you see in fish tanks. Livewells in the bee Only complaint is the fish jummping around to much keeps them lively

I don't know how much different the new livewell systems are as compared to the older Bumble Bees but it sounds like they're pretty much the same. I would always fill the livewell the first thing in the morning while the water was cooler with the aerator on manual until it was full. When the first fish went in, I would switch it over to run on the timer. I also ran both the Pro-Air and recirculating pump from the time the first fish went in the livewell all the way until they went in the weigh in bag.

I only remember ever losing one fish over the course of the 11 years that I owned the boat. That one was a "barely keeper" spot that I deep hooked on a Carolina rig during a daytime tournament in August on Logan Martin. And that one was still alive when we checked on it as we were leaving the last fishing spot of the day but bellied up sometime on the way back to the ramp for weigh in. I'm still convinced that the rough ride back because of all the pleasure boaters and jet skis had as much to do with the fish dying than anything else.

I have a 97 180 pro sport bumblebee. I fill the livewell at the time the first fish is caught with the manual pump then turn on the recirculater pump and I dont turn the manual pump back on because it pumps hot water into the livewell from outside. I also run the pro air the whole time. If it is real hot , like in the middle of the summer, i put one full bag of ice on each side of the livewell. The ice usually has chlorine in it so thats where the Please release me comes in. It takes the chlorine out. Rejuvenade works really well also, but is a little more costly. I havent had any problems with the fish, except those deep hooked, and they would die anyway. Some that I thought would die from being deep hooked survived using this method. The guys that weigh our fish always complain about our fish being so lively that it is hard to get the weight called out(from them jumping around too much!). This is my method and I hope it helps!

Two tournaments so far. Filled livewells after first keeper was caught. Closed wells and put it on Recirc and ran the pro air. Fish have been full of life to put it mildly. Or as the weighmaster says, "Them fish are on steroids" . Full of life!

At first I was not to thrilled with the livewells in the Bee when I saw them. But after a year I LOVE them NO dead fish and they are always lively. Fished a tournament this weekend water temp was 91.2 and my fish were fresh as a daisy
