Play with the JP first, usually coming up on the plate will resolve those issues.

I have the same boat 2003 901 CDX / 2010 200 H.P. Merc Pro XS. You most likely need to raise the motor on your jackplate, which can be difficult because alot of 901s came with a fixed jackplate (slidemaster). How far below pad are you. I believe if you have to move the hole motor up on the jackplate it will move it 3/4" per hole. You want to be near 3-1/4" below pad generally. You can usually find used jackplates on the BBC for less than 200 bucks (manual). Good luck.

what prop are you running, and what is your motor set to right now.![]()
This my current setup and I'm pretty happy with it. I don't get any chine walk. I could probably mess with it to get a little more out of the top end but I'm ok with what I am getting.
04 Nitro 901 22" Trophy, 10" jackplate, 01 200 Merc EFI Propshaft is 2.25" below the pad. 62 mph @ 6000 rpm (gps).
you should lower it a bit, try to start it @ 3inchs below pad, and then look at your prop,
I would try a 24 or 25p 3 blade, that should help with the top end chime walkin.
try borrowing a prop from a friend first, then start playin with the height, we can only give you a ballpark set up, every boat has it's own characteristics, it all depends on the wieght of the boat, driver and pass. this makes a big influence on
your set up, and full livewells change everything. higher pitch prop will be good for out of the hole and top end long runs. but make sure your getting to your max rpm @ wot or you will be under propped or over propped.![]()
Are you sure it's chine walk and not porpoising? Chine walk is more of a side to side rocking where as porpoising is when the bow wants to bounce up and down?
