    Torque Tamer

I've been putt'n off replacing my skag for a bit. Finally ordered one. My skag has a welded in torque tamer. My buddy suggested not putting one on until I see if the boat even needs one. It's a 2001 Intimidator, 225 efi, 27 powertech, everything stock. I bought it used, so I have no idea if it's needed or not. Wondering if anyone else is running a torque tamer as well or any feedback on it. Also, are nose cones a good idea with gamblers?

    thanks,
    Dave

Gambler puts it on to keep the Sportmaster from blowing out at too low a speed; I personally wouldn't run without it.

    DB:

I am running the same exact boat, motor and prop you are and I have run that setup with and without the torque tamer. My experience is that without the torque tamer my boat was blowing out at just over 80. Since the torque tamer was installed I have not experienced that problem again.

    good luck

    Re: Torque Tamer (cpappas)

Ok, thanks all. On the Gambler website, it shows the torque tab as being included on the 225 EFI with the upgrade package, along with your feedback, seems the way to go.
